I love how all of our cards have turned out.  It’s exciting to see how our family has changed in just a few short years. I am planning on collecting all of our cards for the years to come.

Mini Tot School:Brush

Learning the difference between toothbrush and hairbrush/comb. Sometimes he gets it. But others he switches them and brushes his hair with the toothbrush and eats the hairbrush. He is such a good helper he will even try to brush my hair! I use the term brush for both so I can see how it's confusing!

Caleb you're lucky...

...that your Dad has a sweet tooth, and Daddy you're lucky that Mommy has recipes she is eager to try for Caleb. These are dairy and egg free oatmeal raisen cookies. Mommy and Daddy made them together after C went to bed. They are very yummy. Good thing it made more than 2 dozen so Caleb actually has a chance of getting to taste them tomorrow!

Christmas Tree

We got our tree today. We had talked and schemed to go out to western NC and cut down our own, but we decided “next year”.(Which happens to be what we decided last year about traveling, so I hope it will really happen next year!)

Looking for our tree. Showing Caleb what Christmas trees are.

He loves them. He was grabbing the branches and talking.

We got the tree home and Caleb was interested in every step, from getting it on and off the car, to turning the Christmas music on and trimming the tree.

Caleb decided he would start decorating but bringing over his bucket of trucks.

For the rest of the night he played under the tree. He couldn’t get enough. He would roll around the room but then end up right back under it looking at the branches and ornaments.

Mommy: “Caleb, where is the Christmas Tree”

Caleb: (shows me with his pointer finger!)

We are so proud of him. He heard the words “Christmas Tree” for the first time this afternoon and he is already able to point it out to us. Look at that cute little pointer!

Alison gets married!

We flew to Texas for Josh’s sister, Alison ,to get married. It was a quick trip but we had a great time.

Congrats Alison and Jeremy!

At the airport ready to fly to Texas.

2010-11-19 08.43.41

We made it past security and now have boarded Caleb’s first airplane. He was all smiles.

2010-11-19 10.08.57

They had an extra seat, so they let us bring on his carseat(for free!)

2010-11-19 10.09.53

Mommy and Caleb are ready!

2010-11-19 10.10.12

Just waiting on everyone else to board the plane.

2010-11-19 10.13.01

Naps on the plane.(the only time he cried was each way when he woke up in his carseat. I think he was confused about where he was because he wasn’t really awake, and wouldn’t stop crying until we could get him awake-which thank goodness didn’t take too long)

Aunt Nicole spoiling Caleb.(he WAS in his stroller!)

2010-11-19 13.26.30

On our way from the airport to get the rental car.

2010-11-19 13.32.53

Papa got a rental car big enough for us all to fit it. Our entourage included Papa, Vicki, Aunt Nicole, Mommy, Daddy and Caleb. We had about a hour drive to get to Alison.

2010-11-19 12.58.44

Quick nap before all the Friday night festivities. (we didn’t even have time to get the crib from the hotel)

Daddy and Caleb ready for the wedding! (we were told Josh needed a purple tie,so we brought one but then Alison gave him one-I wanted to find a infant tie so Caleb could match all the boys but never did, so we took the opportunity to play with the extra purple tie!)

We had to…we were in Texas!

2010-11-21 14.00.56

In the store with the hat, there was this dog that giggles and rolls around. Caleb was very amused, so his Papa and grandma bought him one, since our flight wasn’t leaving for a while. Caleb(well everyone) got some good laughs!

2010-11-21 14.14.262010-11-21 14.14.34

A Mama’s got to do what a Mama’s got to do! I even said to Nicole “I can’t believe how relaxed I’m being with germs, and letting Caleb roll around on the ground!” We had several hours to burn, and now many calories too! (and yep, I am wearing white socks with Crocs)

2010-11-21 15.21.09

We made it home safely, it was about 9:30pm by the time we got Caleb in his bed. Thank goodness he fell asleep on the way home from the airport(about 1.5 hour drive). I definitely took notes on how to fly more efficiently with a baby, one being using a backpack instead of a diaperbag!
