Hello

Caleb has begun to imitate us talking on the phone. He will hold any object up or even just his arm. I can instigate it by saying "hello, hello is Caleb there?" Haha. Love it. I know many kids do this but it is fun to see him do these things too!

Keep it Movin’

Now you saw how fast that he could move when he is in his walker, but did you know he is trying to move on his own?

He can get up from kneeling to standing or sitting to standing. We have to be careful where we sit up because he might just pull on up, like in the bath tub. We will eventually have a “no standing in the bath” rule, but we are encouraging that behavior right now.(just keeping a close eye/hand on him to keep him safe). And now he shows effort to sit back down(or kinda fall on his rump) or squat down to pick something up. These two down motions take a lot of balance and he is still working hard.

He loves to stand and hold on to things, even the most unsteady of objects.

He has two similar push toys and a shopping cart that he loves to walk around with. We have to hide these toys sometimes so that he will play with other toys(or so we can sit still!). If he can reach any of the push toys he will get it. Josh said the other day(which was a first for us) “did you move him” - Nope he cruised down the entire couch, up the ottoman and was standing with his cart! So fun to see some independent movement! Oh and by the way he is cruising too!

He is still not so good a steering and you have to get everything out of his path! He walk and walk until he runs into something!

P1070449

Also,he is climbing the stairs. If you get anywhere close to them he about jumps out of your arms to climb up! I am super impressed that “Mr. I don’t crawl” enjoys crawling up the stairs!

Oh, Baby!

The last time that we had an ultrasound the doctors saw a little something that was cause for concern. So they suggested that we do the 1st trimester screening at 12 weeks. We had refused this screening in the past. But with a concern for a problem we would rather know about it ahead of time.

Praise God that everything was completely normal this time! We are so relieved and thankful. For those of you who have known about our concern, thank you so much for your faithful prayers. We have to believe that it was the prayers that healed our little one.

Baby playing with the cord. Look at the details of the little hand. So sweet!

Josh has been calling this baby a girl. And although we still don’t know yet, he has changed his mind because of this ultrasound shot. “I don’t know this looks just like Caleb, I think it’s a boy now”. That long back, tiny little rump and skinny legs are just like Caleb’s!

Oh, the places he will go!

We went to Grandma and Papa’s this past weekend. Grandma has many toys for Caleb, which is so nice because we don’t have to bring anything! Grandma had this great idea to see how Caleb would do on the sidewalk with the walker(which is a toy be don’t have)!

He flew down the driveway, giddy as can be! We are going to be in trouble when he is moving on his own-not sure we are going to be able to keep up!

And he’s off!

2011-02-19 17.38.37

Caleb walked a good way down the side walk. Still giddy! He was going so fast that he kept walking right out of his shoes. What’s the harm in letting him get his socks a little dirty?

2011-02-19 17.38.46

Well, like I said…he was going REALLY fast! Went through his shoes, socks and then even his SKIN! I had to make him stop because he was bleeding on his toe! You would have never known because he was having the best time and still going! As soon as I took him out to fix his foot problem he was pointing to the walker and signing more! We figured out how to keep his shoes on, and raised the height of the walker. We were about one step from adding duct tape to his feet!(Grandma actually ran into the house to get some!)

2011-02-19 17.40.41

He did several laps up and down hills! Laughing the whole time.

2011-02-19 17.41.05

Pure excitement!

2011-02-19 17.46.47

So speedy I couldn’t get a picture in time!

2011-02-19 17.46.50

Vroom!

2011-02-19 17.47.11

Had to hold him still to get a picture! He had a blast! We will definitely have to do more “walks” with him now!

2011-02-19 17.48.57

Thanks for the great idea Grandma and thanks for letting us borrow the walker!

Yep, it really did happen.

Mommy turned 30!

Daddy went out and got me some breakfast, which I think Caleb ate more than I did. I couldn’t keep up with him.(he had already eaten his breakfast too!)

2011-01-29 08.53.39

I got a cute card signed by Josh and Caleb. Here is Caleb’s part. So cute. And pink RoSes. LOVE.

2011-01-29 09.22.42

I then went and got my hair done. I couldn’t have been more excited to do this by myself. Daddy took Caleb to Chickfila(I know 2x one day=crazy!) I met them there just to spend time with my boys. On the way out I noticed these really cool new ketchup packets. I wasn’t planning on giving one to Caleb but he stuck it in his mouth so I figured it was as good as ours. Daddy didn’t want him to have it in the carseat, just in case. IN CASE OF WHAT?!?!?!!?!?!??

hahaha. We giggled the whole way home. I can still laugh when I think about him. I looked back and everything was fine, then I hear swallowing noises…and then this….

2011-01-29 12.37.14

We spent some time at the park and it was gorgeous weather(minus the wind).

2011-01-29 13.00.53

I have heard of some people having trouble with turning 30(ahhemmm Josh!) But if 30 means a family-a wonderful husband, a cute sweet boy and being pregnant, then bring it on!

We got a babysitter for the night. Josh and I went to the Melting Pot(surprise, I have been since I was like 12) and then to the movies(we hadn’t seen a movie since Caleb was ity bity and we saw The blind Side). So that was a real treat. I really wanted our babysitter to take a picture of us, but I forgot.

So what does 30 look like? SCARY!

2011-01-29 17.10.26

So here we are. The 30year olds.

2011-01-29 17.11.30

My cell phone could not seem to get a decent picture with it being so dark in the Melting pot! So we will keep those pictures small!

Pretending Spring has Sprung

The day was a little colder than it appears in these pictures.

When I brought Caleb home from the babysitters(I had worked the night before), the weather felt great. But we went inside for naps. As soon as he woke up, we went outside to catch some of the spring teaser weather. Well the weather had quickly changed and had quiet the chill to it.

2011-02-02 16.20.09

It might have been better if the sun was a little brighter! But it was about 4pm and then sun was disappearing fast.

2011-02-02 16.20.46

“Are you sure I don’t need my coat, Mom?”

2011-02-02 16.21.55

WIND!

2011-02-02 16.21.06

HIDE!

2011-02-02 16.24.432011-02-02 16.24.57

After this I went in and got his coat. Which was just in time because the neighbor kids came over and were entertaining Caleb. We stayed outside for about an hour. Then it was too cold for Mommy, and we had to go in. I am so ready for spring. I am so excited to be able to play and spend some warm days outside.

Surprise!

IMG_9642

Caleb is going to be a big brother!

We are excited to finally be able to share this news with everyone!

Mommy and Caleb went to the Doctor’s on December 23rd for just a normal “yearly” appointment.

While we were there we found out some pretty exciting news! It was Mommy, Caleb, Dr.R and her nurse Becky celebrating in the office! It’s kind of funny because all of the previous pregnancy tests that we have taken have been deliberate and done together. But not with baby #2! We had been trying but didn’t think anything would be positive just yet! Because we had no idea how far along we were, no dates to compare to, they did blood work as well to get an idea so we could schedule an ultrasound to get an official due date.

But we couldn’t just tell Daddy over the phone. So we avoided his calls all day and when he got home we had a early Christmas gift for him!

2010-12-22 13.38.13

After he opened it, I got a “REALY!!!??”, a high five and a hug!

P1070204

P1070199P1070208

(Yes! We wore matching outfits to the doctor, don’t judge! I love it.) Smile

We had to make a decision quick! We were going to see all of his family the next day(for Christmas) and be spending the whole weekend with them. Do we break the news early early before we even know too much information or do we share? We decided to take them opportunity of face to face sharing(with his side!).

The reveal.

Picture #1 “Say cheese”.

Picture #2: “Say Caleb’s going to be a big brother!” WHAT!!!!?!? No one knew what to do, notice the big smiles! Of course GMaw knew exactly what that meant! Look at her and Caleb!

Next we had to tell immediate family we weren’t with.

Aunt Alison, Uncle Zach& Auntie Ashley got phone calls to share our exciting news.

We used Sykpe to tell Nana and Uncle John and Uncle Scott.

"SURPRISE!”

January 11th, 2011. Based on the size of our little “piece of rice”, baby was 6weeks and 5days.

Some M family trivia. What else has happened to us on January 11th? Well, it’s kind of a big day for us.

1/11/09: We miscarried.

1/11/10: We dedicated our first child to God.

1/11/11: We got our first peak at another one of God’s blessings. His provisions are amazing!

DUE DATE: SEPTEMBER 1st, 2011!

February 3rd, 2011. Our 10 week appointment and follow up ultrasound. Definitely looks more like a baby now. Was dancing all around during the ultrasound. So cute to see!
