Ansley-8 months

DSC_0016 (2)DSC_0021 (2)DSC_0029 (2)DSC_0031 (2)

  • Sitting up!
  • Consistently rolling over both ways!
  • Can now reach and play while laying on her tummy
  • Grabs and holds her feet. (a positive thing for development, we are excited about because Caleb NEVER grabbed or noticed his because he was too archy)
  • Sleeps mostly on her mattress but has has a couple of nights back in the nap nanny when she was congested.
  • Weighs(with clothes on) 13lbs 3oz. She is steadily gaining, just not in any hurry.
  • Most of her clothes are 3-6months, and size 1 diapers.
  • Loves to grab and hold on to anything she can reach. Loves your face. It’s very cute because she looks at your face very intently and then touches and grabs it. Will stick your fingers in her mouth in a second.
  • Is very drooly, when she is snuggly against you, your shirt will be soaked. She is actually started to do what Caleb does; grabs cloth in her thumb sucking hand.(We cant teach this, genetics are crazy!)
  • First kid to sleep with something besides a lovey or a blanket. Meme convinced me she NEEDED a mobile in her crib. We has a no toys, no playing policy for cribs, but we gave in.
  • Eating babyfood for breakfast and dinner now along with her milk bottles.
  • Very content. Serious most of the time(in all her pictures she looks mad, she gets that “I look upset but I’m really content” face from her Mommy) but has some giggle sessions.
  • Doesn’t like the bright sun- she either needs to get over this one or learn to like her sunglasses, 2 pairs to choose from girlie, or its going to be a long summer!
  • Doesn’t really have separation anxiety(like from Mommy or Daddy) but does if she is left alone. If I walk out of the room she get hysterical like something is majorly wrong and then I come back and talk to her and she is 100% fine again!
  • Loves to stick out her tongue.
  • Has blonde hair that you usually can’t see, but has started to get long enough to stand up.

…and a bribe or two with Daddy’s iphone!

DSC_0006 (2)

  • Weight: 32lbs
  • Height: 3ft tall
  • Wears: 2-4Tshirts, 3T shorts, adult size hat/helmet, size 6 diaper
  • Loves: reading books, playing in water, “driving” anything he can, bike rides, running, Barney videos, eating, blowing his nose(into his hands and then looking at the snot), his fishing pool puzzle, pretend and real cooking, the computer or anything with a touch screen
  • Hates: Stopping an activity that he is really in to, taking medicine,
  • Started Speech therapy. His new therapist’s name is Kristi. She comes twice a week for 30min. each time.
  • Can walk up/down stairs with being able to hold on to either a hand or the rail/wall.
  • Climbing up on couches and chairs all the time now.
  • Such a sweet big brother. Loves to give kisses and hugs to Ansley.
  • Is more of a Daddy’s buddy than a Momma’s boy.
  • Sleeps all night when doesn’t get woken up by his own coughing fits(colds?, allergies?). Takes a nap from about 1-3:30pm. Sleeps with a burp cloth,"burpie”, and a bear named “Buddy Bear”.
  • Bad habits: pouring water out of the tub, keeping fingers in his mouth all the time, thumb sucker,
  • He is such a big flirt. Loves to say “hi” to everyone when we are out. Knows how to bat those big baby blues.
  • Thinks he owns Chick-fil-a. Walks right in, says “hi” to everyone he can, goes up to the counter and starts babbling out his order.
  • Can pee on demand but not quite ready to be potty trained. Getting there though.
  • When giving hugs he will pat you on your back(especially if you are patting him).
  • Goes to bible study every Thursday morning. He has memory verses and lessons every week. He does dances/sign/moves to them if you sing them(they have matched them with a little song).
  • Remembers bible stories he is taught. If we have a book that corresponds to the new story, he will find that book and then that is the book we read over and over. He even picked up on a story about “Mary kissing Jesus’ feet”. I was a little disturbed why  he was kissing/licking my feet until I found out what his latest story was at bible study! He was kissing his mom’s feet. So sweet. He might not be able to talk about it all but it is sure getting in that cute little head of his! (Planting those seeds!)
  • Officially registered for preschool in the fall at a local church. He will go three days a week(MWF).

Caleb’s first taste at cake batter bowl.

Big and Little

P1110207

Josh and I went to get the kids dressed the other day. Tag team. I took Ansley. Josh took Caleb. With out any communication or planning we had to laugh at what we did. I picked Ansley’s Little sister shirt at the same time Josh picked Caleb’s big bro shirt.

Don’t they make a cute pair? And us a good team?

Anniversary Celebration

#1 Beach day and a Hotel night.

We were able to sneak away to the beach and just read and relax.

IMG_0003[1]

While Meme and Nana kept the kids for us.

DSC_0295

We walked to THE Pub for lunch. And to 7-11 for a slurpee and a treat.

IMG_0023

We went out to dinner at the Tavern. I was sad we forgot to get a picture of us, so we took this quick one.

IMG_0007[1]

Yummy drinks.

IMG_0006[1]

Yummy dinner and a super yummy dessert.

IMG_0013[1]

Most people have wine chilling in their hotel rooms. Not us, we had milk for Ansley.

#2 Beach day and a hotel night

We enjoyed every moment that sun was up!

IMG_0016

Reading, tanning and relaxing. LA read “The Hunger Games” and Josh read “Another Man’s War”. We both really enjoyed our books too. Nana brought Caleb down to the beach for a little bit(hence the stroller!)

IMG_0022

Leaving again after dropping off more milk.

IMG_0034

This time we switched cars and we got Nana’s convertible!

IMG_0032IMG_0033

We had such a fun time driving around in the nice weather!

IMG_0028IMG_0027IMG_0025

We had a great idea to have a picnic on the beach and watch the sunset. We decided to do this a little last minute so it was a race to get dinner and make it back to the beach(we were running errands like getting our new iphones!) We parked back at Meme’s and ran to the beach, laughing so hard. We were about a block away and people were walking away from the beach saying “you missed it”. Yeah, thanks! It was more of a comedy/adventure date than a romantic one! But that’s ok because that’s more us anyway! We were so close!

IMG_0040IMG_0035IMG_0036IMG_0037

Publix subs!

IMG_0038IMG_0039

By the way our hotel room was 421. Our anniversary date is 4/21! I think just about anything could have been wrong with that room and I wouldn’t have switched(which our bed was a queen instead of a king)! It was on accident too, we had nothing to do with the coincidence!

IMG_0044

On the note of sunsets, the night we were back with the kids Nana suggested we go try to catch the sunset again. There was no sunset that night. haha!

Best tie and Mother’s pearls

The kids were recently invited to a party. It was a first birthday party and the invitation said to wear your best tie or your Mother’s pearls. It was a cute idea and I think it made for some cute pics!

One day I might trust Ansley in my real pearls, but for now I will stick to my costume jewelry!

DSC_0002

It’s easy to pick out your best tie when you only have one tie!

DSC_0006

I think pearls look good on this cutie!

DSC_0011

His outfit makes me smile!

DSC_0007

Could these two be any more alike?!!??

DSC_0010

Happy Birthday Meredith! Thanks for a great party!
