Buddies

Joshua and Caleb

P1060293

We had a pool playdate this past week. We met for lunch at the park and then headed into the pool. We had such a great time. Their friend, Brynn came along too but this picture of the boys was just too cute! The boys are less than a week apart in age.

9 Months!

P1060307

P1060311

I really can’t believe we are so close to the one year mark. Boy, time is flying.  Caleb is such a joy to have and the love that we get to have because of him is amazing! Here are some 9 month Caleb tidbits:

  • Weighs 20 lbs 10 oz (STILL…He dropped from the 80% to 50%,the doctor told us to increase his food, so eat up C)
  • Remains 75% in Height
  • Increase head size(yes that was possible) from 92% to 95%.
  • Getting more independent with sitting
  • 2 Bottom teeth and 4 top teeth
  • Bites off pieces from his biter biscuits, cheerios and watermelon slices
  • Starting to eat dinner with us: the first real food he had was mashed potatoes(I made his with breast milk instead of regular milk though) and then another night he had some rice and beans. It’s fun to be able to include him in our meals.
  • Finally will stand with assistance and put some weight on those feet
  • Still loves Elmo, hanging toys, reading books, baths, and swimming.
  • Wearing size 4 diapers, and mostly 12mo clothes(some 18mo ones because they are cute), and size 3 shoes.
  • Rolls both ways now.
  • Began the CDSA program(a free state program that offers in home PT-more on that later)to get his butt moving.
  • Starting happy screaming and “talking”

Campmeeting 2010

This was my 30th and Caleb’s 1st! It was a hot one though.  Thanks to Nana for getting some fun things like the high chair, toys and swing. We were able to take some professional pictures with the whole fam damily! I will post those when we get them. Some of them are really super cute!

“CAMPMEETING!” (said in Josh’s excited sarcastic voice!)

One of the highlights as a kid is to play in the spring. We took Caleb down there but it was a little too cold for his feet, but he did enjoy reaching in to get some rocks. I have a feeling next year we are going to spend a lot of time down there.

What do you actually do at Campmeeting you ask? Eat, talk and a whole lot of swinging.

Here are some cute pics of Caleb

Our Vacation in Collages

We went to Naples for a week and stayed at the Club 255. We had such a great time. Caleb even took a couple of naps on the beach. He didn’t mind the sand but wasn’t as interested in it as I thought he would be.  We brought along his duck tub to help him regulate his body temperature. He just sat in there and played in the cool water. Meem even babysat for us a couple of times, we got to go on a date night, a couple of sunset walks and even spent a few of those hot afternoons on the beach while Caleb stayed back. Thanks Meemer! Not to mention the great quality time we got to all spend with Meem.

There is a Naples tradition: to walk a couple of blocks to 7-11 and get a candy and a slurpee.  I don’t let Caleb have many “treats” yet but I couldn’t break tradition. He had just a couple of bites of my slurpee. There is nothing like that Naples slurpee!

Independence Day!

P1050855a

Caleb, Mommy and Nana went to the Uncle Sam Jam on July 4th.(Daddy had to work at the camp) We got there early so we got a good spot in the shade.  We all ate dinner and enjoyed the live music and ‘fair’ food. Caleb got in his pjs and went to sleep while we were waiting for fireworks(our plan was to stay as long as he would let us). After a little cat nap he was up and ready to go again(at 9pm!). We decided that we wanted to be able to make a quick escape and not get stuck in traffic so we watched some fireworks from our car.  We stayed for about 5min of the fireworks and then hightailed it out of there. Caleb did great-we just wanted to make sure he did great all the way to his bed! He didn’t even flinch with the fireworks, just watched intensely! A good time was had by all!
