4 Months Old

Caleb has had another un-birthday! He is growing like a weed(a cute one though!), and still remains in his same growth curve. He is so fun watching him grow and learn. We get so much joy from being his parents.

  • Weighs 16lbs 6oz (80th percentile)
  • Measures 25.5 inches (75th percentile)
  • Head is 90th percentile
  • He got round number 2 vaccines on Friday
  • And then had his first fever- 101.8 (reaction to the vaccines) and first doses of Tylenol
  • Gets 1T of baby oatmeal added to his bottle to help with reflux issues
  • We are trying Zantac to help with reflux also, we hate giving him medicine but we hate him hurting even more.
  • Rolled over a couple of time from tummy to back
  • Sitting pretty well with just a little help, sits better on his own than in the bumbo(he is not a fan of that thing)
  • Curious about things around him, reaches and tries to put it in his mouth(even if he didn't reach it-looks like he is eating an invisible ice cream cone)
  • Elmo is still his best friend
  • Usually sleeps all night- 12 hours!
  • Sometime when he cries it sounds like a whinny drawn out "mom"
  • Spends time in his exersaucer and johnny jumper now that he does better with his head, still keeps it arched back a lot though
  • Ticklish now near his armpits and his thighs
  • Nicknames are: "Mr. man", "Little C", "Cdawg", "Little buddy"

Left Behind

I think I might have been reading the Left Behind series for too long-but doesn't this picture look like Caleb was raptured? I have been reading that series for most of last year. While I was pregnant and having long awake times at night I would go through them really fast, now that I have Caleb my pace has slowed. I am in the final book "The Glorious Appearing". After that I start the prequels-very excited!

Don't be left behind!

Tummy Time

Caleb is doing much better with his tummy time. He used to just lay there with his head on the floor, but recently he has been holding his head up and looking at his toys.

Spring!?!?!?

I have many random theories. Like what you ask? Like you can't get struck by lightening at church(yeah, I know it has happened) Well, my latest one is that if I don't wear a coat spring will come!

I went out to our back porch today and it was so warm. So Caleb and I just hung out and took some pictures. It was so nice that I decided we should go on a walk(without our coats!). After our 2 minute walk because it was too cold we came back to the warm back porch, where we basked like fat cats in the sun! The house was blocking the wind and we were able just to enjoy the sunshine!

Happy Valentine's Day

"...and the greatest of these is Love."
-1 Cor. 13

Our Valentine's Day consisted of many edible treats: heart shaped Krispy-Kreme donuts, chocolate-chip pancakes, and tonight will be a yummy pink salmon dinner. Josh gave me some beautiful flowers and a sweet card. Caleb gave Mommy and Daddy a 12 hour night- now that's love!

Caleb's first out of state trip

I braved a trip, just Mommy and Caleb, all the way down to Atlanta. The drive usually takes 5 1/2 hours but it took me over 8. The drive didn't seem that long though, I was able just to slow down and enjoy time with my baby. Caleb eats every 3 hours so every 3 hours we would stop and take about an hour break, to feed, change and have some out of carseat time. Caleb did so well the whole weekend. He was able to meet lots of family and some friends for the first time. On the way to Atlanta we stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner and McCafe for dessert. And on the way back we hit Cracker Barrel for breakfast and Concord Mills for lunch and shopping! The only thing we bought was an Elmo. Caleb got a "prize" for being so good on his first trip. Caleb smiles and laughs at Elmo! His smiles are worth every penny!

We had some "playtime" on the changing pad in the bathrooms.

Our stop at McCafe for dessert.
I ate my sundae while Caleb nursed. Looks like Caleb wanted some of my sundae.

I know this picture is blurry, but look Grandma AND Caleb are smiling!
(How did we get Caleb to smile...Elmo!)

During our visit to Susan and Mark's.
Caleb saw a puppy for the first time and got his first puppy kiss!

Caleb watching Hibachi.
When Jenn and I were roommates in college,
we would go to Japanese all the time.
So of course we had to take Caleb!

We drove up to see Jenn(my bestest friend) who lives just south of Chattanooga. It wouldn't have been a bad drive, but I did a few detours(like take I85 towards NC instead of staying on I75 and it took me about 3 extra hours to get there!)

Uncle Scott

Nana "helping" me pack.
We got up at 5am to beat traffic and weather!

Caleb and Elmo

He earned his prize fair and square!

Baby Camo

Awwww, look how cute! You think that camo is cute for a baby? It is until it camouflages the blowout! I was holding him and playing with him and didn't even notice he had had a big blowout until it was on me! Maybe you want to camouflage your baby's poop, but me, I think I will stick to the white onesies(which he seems to blowout in everytime)! Although, I haven't done laundry yet, so maybe when I do not have to fight a stain I might like it!???!?!?
