Caleb and I were laying on our tummies next to each other, I was on the computer and he was playing with blocks. He whimpered, I rolled him over(just knowing that he was complaining because he was on his tummy). Then I noticed... BLOOD. He has almost ripped a good part of his fingernail off, leaving raw skin! I still have no idea how it happened. ahhhh! He doesn't seem to be bothered by it anymore than that initial whimper, but it makes me sick! My son's first bloody boo-boo, and I was right there. He got his first boo-boo band-aide (not counting the ones he gets from the doctor after shots). Now if I can just keep him from eating it!

"Two-fers"
And then there were 2! Caleb now has his two front bottom teeth. So cute and sooooo sharp! We attempted to get some pictures but they aren't the greatest. We will have to post more as we get some good grins! We have gotten many suggestions for surviving teething, like- teething tablets, orajel, teethers, frozen waffle sticks, tylenol and motrin. He does pretty well with it all, so all we have used so far is rubbing his sore gums with our fingers and the occasional tylenol dose.
Attempt #1:Unsuccessful.

Tampa Trip
One of my childhood friends got married this weekend in Tampa. So Josh,Caleb and I went down to celebrate with her. Luckily Zach and Ashley live there and we were able to stay at their house and use their babysitting services two nights in a row. Yes, that meant 2 date nights back to back for Josh and I! Whoop Whoop! We took 2 days to get down there but because of work schedules had to make the trek back in one day. Everyone did great and had fun the whole weekend.
The last time I took this picture, we were on our way home from the hospital. This time we are headed to Tampa.
One of the many stops on the way down. Notice Caleb's car outfit for the car ride!
Yes, we bought Caleb a dvd player for the car. He doesn't watch tv at home but how can we expect him to sit there for 22 hours in one weekend with out something to watch. He watched Nemo, Elmo, Praise Baby and Baby Einstein. One of the many stops on the way down. Notice Caleb's car outfit for the car ride!
Zach feeding Caleb lunch right after we arrived!

In front of Z&A's apartment about to walk to the pool.
LA, Zach, Caleb and Ashley(and Josh) enjoying some pool time in the hot Florida weather.
Caleb and his crazy Uncle Z.
Crazy because Zach is crazy for Caleb!
(by the way I think this should be Z's profile pic!)

Surprise! John was able to fly down and join us!

Love.
We are "old" but attempted to dance to some of the "clubby and latino" music at the reception. We know how to fake our way through shagging but we weren't at a Carolina wedding, so there was no such luck for that music choice.
After we got back from the wedding, Ashley decided to show us how to use her shake weight.
Thanks for the demo!

Bottom Left
Caleb has a TOOTH!
Whoop Whoop! He did extremely well, just a little more drooly and a lot more snotty! To see it you have to get him to laugh so he will open his mouth really wide, but that bottom left pearly white has officially made an appearance! We don't have any pictures yet because his tongue stays in the way, but I will work on it! Maybe as it grows in a little more and he gets more comfortable with it we will be able to get some cute pics.

Does Caleb like his new carseat? The answer is YES!
(maybe a little too much!)

Caleb and Russell out to lunch after their final swim lesson.
Congrats boys on finishing your first class!
Look at Caleb sitting up like a big boy!
I couldn't believe he did so well with the highchair!

Big Boy Carseat
Ok. This one made me tear up! I don't know why but this hit me hard that our little boy is growing up! I kept repeating the verse (in my head)Proverbs 22:6- "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he won't depart from it.". Our purpose in Caleb's life is to train him up, keep him safe so he can grow up and leave us and be a man of God. He is NOT supposed to stay little forever!
We bought the Britax Marathon a couple of days ago at Babies-R-Us. Last night we brought the new seat inside to adjust the shoulder straps around Caleb. Then part b was taking the seat and installing it in the car! It is always a PROCESS, to say the least, to installing carseats. It is SO much bigger than his cute little carrier. I remember getting that carrier in the mail the day we found out he was a BOY! I think he is going to be much more comfortable in his new seat because he has so much more room.

6 Months
Here is Caleb's 6 month old post!(a little late!) Can you believe he is 1/2 of a year! He really is growing so fast. He is still a content, happy baby. Here are some Caleb tidbits!
- Weighs 19lbs 8oz. Still 80%
- Height remains 75%
- Head remains 92%. (The doctor said that they couldn't have pick more consistent numbers for his growth to stay on his growth curve-we aim for perfection!)
- Things we are working on: standing with us holding him, sitting on his own, rolling over and using a sippy cup.
- Loves his babysitters Marianne and Carrie(and they are so good to and with him)
- "Talks", squeals, giggles all the time.
- Loves his changing pad for some reason, and especially after we take off his clothes before bath.
- Tries to get as far under the water as he can during bath, the bath is only so big(and not made for swimming), so his legs hang out.
- Working on getting teeth. None popping through just yet though.
- Eats real food 3 times/day. Keeps Mommy really busy with the food processor.
