Lately this has been Caleb’s spot while I cook or do the dishes. He has become my little helper boy and loves it. Usually I give him a spoon or spatula similar to what I am using. He is very good at following directions and we remind each other (in our own sign language kind of way, waving our hand while saying “hot'”) that the stove is HOT. This morning, I decided to make some muffins and of course Caleb was ready to help. As soon as I dumped the mix in the bowl he reached in for a big handful.(I think that he thought it was sand!) Don’t worry if “we” make something that YOU will be eating, he won’t give me such hands-on help. He even helped me with the measuring cup, luckily I only had to add water. While I was finishing up, he played with the bowl, spoon and good old fashion water(his favorite)! We worked on the skill of stirring.
