Memorial Day Weekend

We went camping this past weekend with family and had a blast!

As soon as we got there, Josh and I were setting up camp and Caleb was exploring. Next thing we knew he was eating the dirt and rocks. (notice his lower teeth, that was after I had swept his mouth out, yuck!) Ok. So time for dinner!

We always do the same boring camp food. This time I googled some ideas and came up with biscuits on a stick and eggs in a bag for one of our breakfasts. It was fun and turned out perfect.

This was my family canoe when I was growing up.

Josh has had his eye on it since we were dating. My mom promised it to him, once I had a ring on my finger. We finally got it up to our house last summer and then we finally took it out for our maiden voyage this weekend! This picture is probably like literally 20 years ago!

He couldn’t get comfortable long enough to stay sleeping and woke up mad. So we had to stop for a snack and reset. Good decision.

Smores! I bought Caleb so special chocolate(with out milk) so he could enjoy some for the first time. He couldn’t have cared less!

He was more interested in the marshmellow on his hands than he was to eat it. (that bite was mine, trying to convince him it was yummy)

Later I made a smore for myself with regular chocolate and guess who was ready for a bite!?! I was able to find a spot with just the marshmellow and cracker.

Big Brother Class

For my insurance we have to take some birthing classes, one of which was a Big Brother/Big Sister class. We found a pizza place by the hospital that has vegan pizza(which Caleb needs because of his milk and egg allergies).  Caleb has never had pizza before so we were excited to be able to make this night special for him.

(My cell phone usually gets pretty decent pictures, so I have stopped dragging our regular camera around, but after tonight, I think it’s a must.)

At the hospital, exploring the room. He went straight for the instructor’s baby!

I didn’t have much expectation for this class with him being so young. But this was right at the start…so you’re saying there’s a chance?!?!?

All this kids sat in a circle with our instructor. Everyone was supposed to bring a baby or a stuffed animal. Our house is still baby doll free, so we went with Elmo.

It’s official. Caleb is now a Big Brother! We have to certificate to prove it!

UWG Graduation

John graduated this past weekend with his bachelors so we went down to celebrate. We got to stay at Greek Village Hotel(thanks to the hookup), which was a great price and was right across the lawn from John’s Fraternity House.

This is the first morning, Caleb eating breakfast and watching some cartoons. (The boy gets seriously spoiled when we are on vacation!)

John and Allie. Allie also graduated but her ceremony was later that day. John is continuing on to Wake Forest Law and Allie is heading to UGA.

After graduation, Josh, Caleb, Nana and I were able to catch the last part of MayFest. Here is Caleb and Daddy enjoying some SHAVED ICE.(no John, we didn’t say shaved dice!)

Zach graduated from Hillsborough Community College the day before with his AA. Congrats Z! He is becoming a USF Bull now to work on his bachelors degree.
