27 weeks

We went to the doctor for our normal 27 week check-up as well as a ultrasound to check on why I am measuring big. Also added on to that was my sugar test to check for gestational diabetes(they check everyone for this). We haven't found out those results yet though.
  • Baby weighs 2 lbs 14 oz, which is the 95 percentile. I asked the doctor to guess what that would mean for delivery weight and he said 9lbs, then added "I don't think we are looking at having a 10 lb baby", OH good, glad that was cleared up! So looks like I don't need any newborn clothes.
  • Amniotic fluid level is really high, >97%, the doctor says its almost always means nothing but there is always a chance of there being a problem, so they are going to be monitoring us really close. I will have NST (nonstress test-a monitor for baby's heartbeat) done every week.
  • Hemoglobin level is 10.4, which is low, so I will start taking Iron every day as well. My co-workers were guessing this past week that I was anemic because I was more pale than usual(yes apparently you can be more pale than my usual!)
  • I am now only measuring 2 weeks ahead as far as my belly size. My last doctors appointment I was measuring 3 weeks ahead.
  • My weight gain was right on target this time too. I was worried that I was going to continue with the weight gain that I had last time, which if I stayed on that curve I would be the size of a bus by delivery.
  • We got a really cute picture of Baby Caleb's face during the ultrasound. When we get a chance we will scan it so you can see it! Josh thinks that he looks like him already, I think he just looks like the cutest little baby!

  1. Glad to hear everything is going well! Can't believe that you are this far along...the rest of the time will fly by and he will be here before you know it! Take care of yourself and Caleb!

  2. I was thinking about you and hoping everything went okay! Hopefully the iron supplements will help you feel less tired. As always, we'll keep praying for you, Josh, and Caleb :)
